RALLY REPORT MAGHERAFELT 9th-11th FEBRUARY2024

Considering the weather forecast for the weekend it didn’t prevent 34 Motorhomes from turning up at Magherafelt.   We seem to hit it lucky when it comes to most of our rallies, this weekend was no exception.

The sun shone and the temperature rose to give us a lovely weekend.  We were warmly greeted by Andy, Sam, Jenny and Selma who gave us our welcome pack with a Valentine chocolate treat whilst the 2 men parked us up.

Friday evening kicked off with Tin Top bingo, which involved a lot of laughing and not a lot of experience!!! Music followed supplied by Roy with dancing if the need arose.

On Saturday morning the ladies were treated to a craft session with 20 in attendance and beautiful Valentine cards made to give to their loved ones, the gents met to discuss activities they would enjoy taking part in 14 attended and ideas were flowing, I would love to have been a fly on the wall.

On Saturday afternoon we were left to our own devises and many spent the time in town watching the 6 Nations Rugby in local establishments, shopping or having a bite to eat before our Saturday night entertainment with music provided by the excellent Joe Mac, tables were dressed beautifully as you can see in our photo gallery, the raffle took place later conducted by one of our hosts Sam, he gave us all many a hearty laugh especially when it came to his tickets being checked by someone on his table and believe it or not he did win a prize.  Good for Hailey managing to carry that heavy bag of spuds she and Brian won sure it was Brian’s birthday after all (What a present).  We finished off the evening by all getting on the floor to sing our Best Of Friends Anthem.

Sunday morning we met for our usual coffee, tea and buns provided by our hosts, our Chairman, David, thanked them for all their hard work in producing another successful rally, David then congratulated Christine McCullough, Jane Aston and Brian Warnock on their birthdays. He welcomed yet another new member Billy Mc Clintock to our club, he informed us that the raffle raised £195 and Albert Everett and Betty Stewart won the 2 number plate draws.

After all the serious business our gentlemen were asked to come to the front where they were given a lovely red rose by Selma. Another great weekend.

          Thank you. Thelma Kyle-Ewing.
