Portrush 5 day Holiday Report.The five day Rally held in Portrush Primary School was really enjoyable , this was down to the efforts of the Committee, their partners and friends. Plenty of outdoor activities in the day time–horse shoe throwing (Thelma won a one night voucher)bean bag throwing, ring throwing at pegs , sea swimming (those swimmers really need a medal, the sea must have been absolutely freezing)and skittles , won by Robbie Hewitt - a one night voucher for his hard work. After a busy day the evening activities were unusual, exciting and fun.Tuesday was Play Your Cards Right, hosted by Sam, Andy and Audrey The winner of the first game was Ruth, whose prize was £50, the second game was won by Olivia, a large box of Celebrations was her prize. Wednesday was Quiz Night with Quiz Master Bob McEwan. The Handsome man team along with the Amp Friends team won with equal highest scores and won a bottle of wine. With the I Don’t Knows team as runners up getting a box of sweets. Thursday, David Davidson asked us to “Open the Box” and Kevin Murray was the one to find the key and win £35 of which he donated some of his winnings to the Chairman’s Charity.Friday evening a chip van visited the site and each van was given a £10 voucher to buy chips and burgers, they were delicious. The entertainment for the evening was provided by Sam who not only asked the questions but very kindly gave us the answers. On Saturday evening we danced the night away to the lovely music of Wee Tom. There were plenty of prizes to be won in the ballot and Davy Davidson won the Aran cardigan raffled by Agnes Adair to raise money for the Chairman’s Charity.The rally ended with the Sunday Coffee Morning. The Chairman David thanked all who had hosted. He also informed us that we had Sixty one vans attending over the five days.
