A very wet night for welcoming the motorhomes which saw 25 vans braving the elements and, as the weekend continued, it did not dampen the spirits in any way!
On Friday night Christmas music was played while people chatted which was followed by Bingo, ably run by Debbie Tinsley, then mulled wine and mince pies and shortbread, which was served up by Ruth Ross and her team. Dancing ensued with music by DJ William Tinsley before people headed to bed.
Saturday morning was still damp, but, despite this, members went into the town shopping with a craft fair being held in Larne market Yard, some went out for lunch and some entertained in their own vans. Saturday night, there was lots of fun with the usual ballot and dancing to Dave Kane into the wee small hours.
Sunday morning was the usual meet up where the Chairman thanked the Hosts, Co-hosts and the catering Team as everyone had a very enjoyable weekend. Shortbread was offered when people arrived and an extra raffle was distributed, where a snowflake to hang on a tree made by Adeline McClenaghan could be won. Twelve snowflakes were duly won in accordance with the 12 Days of Christmas.
The winner of the number plate draw was Iris and Bobby McKeown and the Christmas Quiz was won by Thelma Kyle -Ewing. Some birthday celebrations were announced as well as a wedding anniversary.
The next rally was announced for the New year, which is to be in Cookstown, and details of the Dinner Dance in mid-January was also mentioned to be held in Rosspark Hotel in Kells, with deposits needed by 1st January 2024 Joan Hill
