Londonderry Halloween Rally Report.
What a great weekend of craic and entertainment at Brigade Cricket Club in Derry/Londonderry.
Thank you to our wonderful hosts Selma & Elmer and Audrey & Andy.
On Wednesday evening there was great fun to be had over in the Clubhouse (where we received a very friendly welcome from the staff). Tables were beautifully decorated for Halloween and some members really got into the real spirit of the evening by dressing up in their spookily fabulous costumes.
Andy and Sam also channelled their inner Bruce Forsythe and treated us to a few very entertaining games of Play Your Cards Right. The lucky winners were Anna Grant and Robert Coulter.
On Thursday afternoon we were given the warmest of welcomes by the Cricket Club's Lunch Club who invited us all to join them for food and afternoon entertainment in the Clubhouse (provided by the fabulously energetic and gregarious Gary McMusic). What an unexpected treat!! - Dancing, sing-a-longs, audience participation and wonderful camaraderie. We honestly could not have been made to feel more welcome!! Afterwards, our Chairman, Sam Arlow, thanked members of the Lunch Club for their outstanding hospitality.
Then later in the evening members could make their way into the City of Derry, if they so wished, to witness the truly amazing Halloween Parade and spectacular firework display. The lovely mild weather went a long way to enhancing everyone's enjoyment of the festivities.
What a fabulous two days!!
On Friday morning there was a quick get together in the car park (??) where our Chairman thanked the hosts and all the members who attended this weekend and reminded everyone of the next rally. Number plate draw was won Harry Campbell and Selma McMullan. And last, but not least, happy anniversary to Maud and Mervyn.
